This new collection of photographs and tanka poetry by Tim Lenton and Joy McCall follows the successful format of their earlier book, Stillness Lies Deep.
Here the theme is pathways in the broadest sense, ranging from remote Norfolk countryside ways to the enclosed route round Norwich Cathedral Cloisters, and from seaside paths to city streets. Some will be familiar to readers, but others will offer new views of Norfolk to many.
“In their wonderful tanka poems, Tim and Joy have taken the theme of roads and ways to see and reflect. The discipline of tanka allows them to conjure the spirit of place and the emotion of being. And as their journey takes them through the colours of the seasons, through spring, summer and the autumn of life, there is time to ponder. Each picture, each path evokes a thought, a feeling, a reaction. Tim first. Followed by Joy who responds to both the picture and the rhythm of Tim’s words and feelings. A duet. A beautiful call and response to Norfolk’s Ways”
