Viva la Vuelta! Supplement 2005–2008
The unusual parcours of the 64th edition of the Vuelta a España proved to be the inspiration for this supplement to Viva la Vuelta!, which we first published in 2005. To commemorate the first four stages of this famous race being run in Holland, the Amsterdam publishers Amstelsport bought the rights to publish a Dutch edition of the book, with the proviso that it be brought up to date.
In bringing the book up to date we rewrote the original final chapter, adding new material to cover the 2006 and 2007 editions, and ended with a new final chapter which reports the 2008 race and reflects upon the Vuelta’s 73-year history and its relationship with the Giro and the Tour.
All the new material is now available to the English reader in a 36-page Viva la Vuelta Supplement 2005–2008.
As bookshops are reluctant to handle supplements, it is only available directly from us or from our co-publishers, Sport & Publicity (tel: 0207 794 0915).
‘… a damn fine read about a fascinating race in a country that has tended to tread, or rather, ride its own cycling path. Get sucked into its pages and you'll enjoy it almost as much as the training ride it will make you miss.’
